Director & Lead Clinician - Social Worker
Joseph comes from a social work background and is passionate about providing mental health support to various populations, including CALD and Arabic-speaking clients and communities. Joseph enjoys working across the areas of practice, research, and policy to inform and influence better outcomes for families and individuals who require various support or who may feel stuck. Joseph’s experience and background span in child protection, family therapy, alcohol, other drugs and gambling disorders, and eating disorders. Joseph is knowledgeable and trained in the areas of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), amongst other modalities that aid in the treatment various mental health complexities. In addition, Joseph is a registered CAMS-care clinician and has specialised training in addressing and treating suicidal ideation. Joseph also demonstrates rigorous background in alcohol and other drug research, working extensively with youth at risk and is passionate about engaging and supporting young people and their families. Overall, Joseph offers a human rights-based approach to mental health and seeks to work in collaboration with clients, their families, and community.
